The all-new 2015 Subaru Outback wagon will make its world debut at the New York International Auto Show 2014. Why will it be the safest wagon on the planet?
The all-new 2015 Subaru
Outback makes its global premiere at NYIAS 2014 on April 17 and it’s coming
with a safety system that will set the wagon apart from the competition. What
will make the 2015 Outback the safest wagon on the planet? Subaru and parent
company Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) have developed a new-generation safety
system called EyeSight. What makes this safety system special? 2015 Outback
will come with the new-generation Subaru EyeSight Safety system. It will
integrate Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane
Departure Warning. This advanced safety system uses Subaru-developed stereo
camera technology that was rated highest in front crash prevention system by
the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Here’s how it will work on
the new 2015 Outback. The new-generation Subaru EyeSight driver-assist system
puts the driver at ease with more convenience and greater protection. The new
system is effective in preventing vehicle mishaps and especially driver
distracted errors. Subaru continues to enhance its driving assist technology
"EyeSight" which is based on recognition abilities using a stereo
camera system. The system processes the images gained from its stereo camera
and recognizes the object before an accident occurs. The 2015 Outback will be
available with a “full-perimeter preventive safety” system. The rear radar
system offers three functions. Blind Spot Detection detects vehicles behind the
C-pillars and in other blind spots; Lane Change Assist detects approaching
vehicles when changing lanes, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert detects close
vehicles while reversing, such as out of a parking space or driveway. LED
indicators on the side mirrors alert the driver. Rear Cross Traffic Alert uses
an indicator in the rear view camera display.
FHI’s recent
development of the next-generation "EyeSight" shows just how
committed the Subaru brand is to safety. And they are doing it across their
whole lineup of multi-use vehicles. Building safe vehicles is not new for the
Japanese automaker. They began their own independent crash tests in the 1960s
before there was any official testing being conducted. Subaru has enhanced the
already excellent EyeSight system which will begin arriving in all new Subaru
models starting next year. The new 2015 Subaru Outback wagon will use the
advanced system which is better than any other safety system in existence
today. This will make the 2015 Subaru Outback that debuts at NYIAS next week
the safest wagon on the planet. Watch Subaru EyeSight Overview and Subaru
